Desteba builds infrastructure that locks nobody in.
hashID for identity. saimox for sound in space. Two fields, one principle: the foundation belongs to everyone, you pay for the tool. And that holds for whatever comes next.
Who we are
Desteba Productions S.L. is a company in Crevillent, near Alicante. We run two certified Dolby Atmos music studios, 9.1.6 and 7.1.4, and build software in two fields: saimox, a format and tools for spatial audio, and hashID, infrastructure for digital identity. At first glance the two have nothing to do with each other. In fact they solve the same problem in two places: both arise where something has long been technically possible but is kept artificially scarce, by licences, by gatekeepers or by data collection.
We build at the scale of an ecosystem. Not an app that does one thing, but the layer other things stand on: a format anyone can write and play, an identity anyone can carry, and the tools around them.
Where it comes from
The origin is not a business plan. It is forty years at a keyboard, starting with an Apple II, and two observations that kept coming back.
In the studio: whoever wants to deliver a finished immersive mix on several routes exports it three or four times from different tools and hopes the same thing comes out. Every target format has its own limits and its own traps. And for decades spatial sound was tied to money, not to skill: licences, certifications, hardware in the five-figure range. A producer in a bedroom could not get past that fence.
On the net: the internet was built without an identity layer. Every service improvised its own, with an account, a password, a form, and every one of them kept the data. The same person is collected and sold many times over. And when the net talks about protection, it usually means surveillance.
Both times the question was the same: why does something that is mathematically free cost a licence, an account or your data?
hashID has been the main project since 2025. saimox grew out of the studio in 2026, under a different working name at first. Built by one person, at a kitchen table, in a village in the province of Alicante, without investors.
Where it stands
saimox: the SMX format; saimox Studio for macOS with import and export of ADM-BWF, IAMF, IAB, NHK 22.2 and Ambisonics; free players for macOS and the browser; play.saimox.com as hosting and streaming; the reference library in Rust. Listening is always free and always ad-free.
hashID: an identity that is created on the phone and stays there, with proofs for age, name, life and login that each answer one question with one bit; a messenger and calls without phone number or address book; live as a verifier in the EUDI Wallet Playground of France Identité; onboarded with SPRIND; hashID® registered as an EU trademark; 17 patent applications filed with the Spanish patent office; closed beta.
Everything runs on servers in Germany. No US cloud provider, no tracking.
Where it goes
For saimox: players for iOS and Android, both binaural, both free. Then a DJ workspace and a performance workspace for the stage, live collaboration over distance, tracking systems and personal HRTF profiles. And the field we keep open: object-based audio in the car, which today depends on a price class, not on mathematics.
For hashID we announce nothing in advance. What is finished appears; what is not, does not stand in a product description. The direction: Android; issuing electronic attestations for third parties; the verifier role for age assurance in the member states, where platforms choose their provider freely; certifications when the first contract asks for them. And the field we keep open: the door. Everything that is an ID card in a hand today is a question that a yes can answer.
Mission
We build tools that open the room instead of renting it out. We build identity that proves without revealing.
The foundation is free. The tool costs.Whoever creates an SMX file owes us nothing; whoever plays it, neither. Whoever creates a hashID owes us nothing; whoever proves something with it, neither. You pay for the software you work with professionally, once and permanently, and for the answer to a question you asked. A format you pay to use is a toll. An identity you pay to use is a subscription to yourself.
The best data is no data.Nothing is collected that is not needed. A proof answers one question with one bit, and after 24 hours it can no longer be tied to anyone, by arithmetic, not by promise. Listening needs no account, no install, no ads.
What belongs local stays local. The software runs offline after activation. Keys stay in the security chip of the phone, documents and the assistant stay on the device. What must run on a server runs in Europe.
Vision
Spatial sound becomes ordinary, not a premium feature. A producer with headphones and a used Mac builds a spatial mix and sends it as a link; the receiver clicks and hears it, on the phone, in the browser, in the living room, in the car, and nobody paid anyone for the right to listen.
Identity becomes something you have again, not something stored about you. A sixteen-year-old proves to a platform that she is sixteen, and the platform learns nothing else. A pensioner confirms to his fund that he is alive, from the kitchen table, in ten seconds. At a door, the person behind it sees a yes. Nothing else.
The measure we accept: not market share. Whether someone who has no access to spatial audio today has it tomorrow. And how many records never came into being.
What we hold to
No gatekeepers. No subscription that switches software off, no cloud requirement for local work, no dependency we could later use as leverage.
No data collection as a business model. We sell tools, not users. No cookies, no third-party fonts, no tracking. Processors sit in Europe.
Usable by everyone.Every function reachable by keyboard. States never shown by colour alone, always shape and colour together.
Honest limits.Where something does not work, we say so. A number we quote is measured, not estimated.
Prices without games. One price, the same for everyone, permanent. No discount campaigns, no surcharge for not being switched off.
Nothing promised that does not run. What is not finished is not in the product description.
Deterministic beats probabilistic. Always. We estimate no age from a face and no authenticity from a video. A proof is right, or it does not take place.
A proof is a moment, not a state.Every check happens anew, on the device, with the person in front of it.
No address book. Ever.Invitations go from person to person, through the system's share sheet.
None of this is a manifesto on a wall. It is the building plan. Every line of it stands in code one person wrote at a kitchen table, and in the contracts we never had to sign because of it. If in a few years you receive a spatial mix as a link and simply hear it, or prove who you are somewhere and afterwards nothing about you remains, then it worked. You will not notice us in the process. That is the plan.
Best part is no part. Best data is no data.
